HOW TO PERFORM A DISK CLEAN – UP IN WINDOWS XP

It is better to clean up your computer Harddisk partitions at least once in three months. Because, while using the computer, operating system  accumulates so many files and links. By cleaning the disk, you can save some amount of space in the Hard Disk. Computer running on Windows XP operating system, follow the following steps to perform a Disk Clean UP.
1. Click on "Start" Button and then on My Computer.


2. Now Right Click on any of the Disk Volume, you will get a list of options. Among them, select "Properties" option as  shown below.

3. Now you will get a window called " Local Disk (Drive Letter) Properties" In this window, under the "General" Tab, near to the graphical presentation of your Local Disk volume, There is a button named "Disk Cleanup". Click on this button.
4. Now you will get a window named as " Disk Clean Up for (the selected drive letter). In this window, under "Disk Cleanup" tab, please select the files to be deleted. (Downloaded programs and the like. You can delete almost all of them. ) And click "OK".

5. Windows XP will ask you whether are you sure to delete these files. Click "Yes"
6. Now Windows XP will start to clean up the selected drive of your hard disk.
Wait till Windows XP completes the task. If you wish to cancel the task, you can click on "Cancel". You can clean all the drives of your computer like this. But the drive on which you installed Operating system, is better to clean up once in a month or two.
